South Dakota Regional Science Bowl

The SD Regional Science Bowl is a competition hosted by the Department of Energy and is held on the campus of Si Tanka University, in Huron SD.  Central HS participated in this event for the first time on Feburary 1, 2003 and came home with the fourth place trophy.  Thirty two teams from twenty seven schools across the state were in attendance and three of the four top spots were won by Rapid City schools. [Does this sound familiar?]  We look forward to continuing success in this forum, as our team had only one graduating senior, one junior and two freshmen, while competing against teams made up exclusively of juniors and seniors.  The prize for first place is an all expense paid trip to the East Coast for the national competition, which is held in May.
